Impacting the Future
“Working with the kids brings an indescribable joy to my heart that nothing else ever has in my life.”
Henry Bould has been volunteering at Voice of Hope since his Freshman year at Trinity Christian Academy. As Henry explains, a simple need for volunteer hours in 9th grade has grown into a passion.
Henry Bould has been volunteering at Voice of Hope since his Freshman year at Trinity Christian Academy. As Henry explains, a simple need for volunteer hours in 9th grade has grown into a passion. Henry loves volunteering with the Voice of Hope students and having the opportunity to be a positive influence in the children’s lives.
When I met with Henry he was having a great time in the 2nd grade class helping the students with their homework. I could immediately tell the students loved him, as they called out his name to proudly show Henry a successfully completed math problem. He truly enjoys the time he spends with the second-grade class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Henry has been volunteering off and on at Voice of Hope since 2012 and he fondly remembers when he got to play football with the children one afternoon and how impactful that small, common activity was to them, “Seeing the innocence and joy in kids that young just giving them some attention and how much it means to them. “
An impressive and very wise 19-year-old, Henry hopes that he can play even a small part in encouraging the Voice of Hope children to follow in his footsteps and be the leaders that other children look up to. Henry comments that he is also grateful that the children have coaches at Voice of Hope who care for them and who also set positive examples and strong character models.
Henry is taking his love of Christ, children and volunteering and making it a career and life passion
Voice of Hope has meant a lot to me through the years. Being able to influence kids’ life in a positive way is amazing. It has impacted my life by making me realize how much volunteering means to me and what I want to do in the near future by committing to go to South Africa for 4 months to volunteer with a childcare program.
As a Dallas native, Trinity alumnus and member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church, Henry has grown up with a strong foundation of faith which he has so generously shared with us at Voice of Hope. We will have Henry in our prayers and ask that the Lord bless him and protect him as he travels in just a few short months to South Africa on a mission trip with Volunteer International.
Stories of Hope
Voice of Hope is proud to share a series of stories through this year that will tell the history of Voice of Hope and what a tremendous impact your support has had in the community and so many lives.
